About Worship |
Worship is an Extreme Doom (or Funeral Doom) band formed by Fucked Up Mad Max and The Doommonger back in 1998.
The band was fueled by Max's hatred of the world (which sadly led to his early departure) and The Doommonger's passion for sad music. The band is continued by The Doommonger, joined by Satachrist on additional guitar.
After a tape, 1 LP, 1 CD & 4 EPs, the long awaited album "Dooom" has been released October 2007 on CD, 2LP and tape. CD version by our very own Endzeit Elegies / Avasonic / Rough Trade. Vinyl version by Painiac as usual. Tape by Bubonic Prod.
To celebrate our 10th anniversary this year, we will play some exclusive shows this year, with new live members:

"I have done what I think I was born for"
This thing can hence be closed. Dooom is done, out there, orderable. I can only hope that someone out there likes what we have done, that which cost me years of pondering, months of clubbing into shape and weeks of hard labour. It's as good as it is, as faulty as I am, so very Worship and a bleeding part of me. It hurts and I like it. And it's the center piece of my release cabinet. Never had such a fancy release.

What can I say? After about a month of gapless labour, 12-16 hours a day, I dragged the monolith across the finish line and ended what had been begun 7 years ago (with about 5 years of empty space in between). I am still mastering the thing, taking a little extra time there, don't want to mess everything up in the last minutes.
But I will send it off to the factory today, thereby using up my last deadline to the last inch. Which means. It's done. At least some point tonight. Or before dawn at least.

Far advanced. Next week is solid deadline. I am a little ill, but who isn't nowadays? Have to take some rest for the weekend, the final round. I have to drop dead AFTER the deadline, you know? Received the proofs of the artwork today, all is fine there. Next Monday News we must be done.

Back to full doom speed! Turtle power! Last week I settled a lot of label questions for the album, preparing the digipack and so on. Furthermore, I finished half of the choirs and various details. This Friday we will have finished the guitars, until next weekend I will finish the vocals, and the weekend after that we will have the final mix and send it to the factory. All very tight, but not impossible. And there is no turning back, release is registered with my major distro (Rough Trade) in Europe. That makes it very official! *swallows*
Release Date is October 19th!

The Beyond The Void schedule is seriously shaken, because we didn't finish the vocals on time, we will need the next weekend, so I am again one week behind Worship schedule, which will mean release date in OCTOBER, hopefully the very last change.

Well made some progress with clean vocals, but now my equipment has been relocated to Beyond The Void studio, so I can do almost nothing before August 18th. Still, I will continue with mixing, details, guitar sounds, choirs, artwork issues and return in full force on August 18th.

Well, deadline ahead, 5 days till Beyond The Void hits studio, and surprise I am not quite done here. Due to some delays like amp arriving 2 weeks late and new guitar having arrived broken needing replacement, I am a bit behind schedule. Satachrist ran out of time before BTV, so we will record the rhythm guitars after he is done with the BTV guitars in mid August, also the growls and final mix will happen right after he and I are done with BTV around August 18th. Clean vocals I want to finish beforehand. This does not really make it impossible to release in late September as estimated, I can still make it

2 weeks till deadline. Lyrics are done. New guitar and amp have arrived. All final lead guitars are recorded.

Pheew. I have a rough mix of the basic arrangements, added some details. Bought a new Worship guitar which just arrived, it's great. And the lead guitar is being finetuned right now, so we can approach the final guitars this weekend. Still waiting for the amp to arrive though. We have a new distro in Russia. This week I will hopefully finalise the lyrics and start with the vocals.

There is this funny rare disease that makes my life even more miserable right now, still I managed to plan on expanding gear for the album (e.g. I chose a new amp for just the sound I need), and 6 songs have basic scetchy arrangement now. I hope to finish the groundwork next weekend and therefore go into the vocals & details before July (the last month to finish the album).

Hey folks, pardon the silence, I was stupid enough to accept a speaker role for a pc game, which came with a certain urgency and kept me busy on top of the time consuming present Beyond The Void activities. Will be checked off coming weekend. Then I'll focus on the next phase of Worship recordings.

Yes, we have skipped a Monday. Reason was that we were called to Rome. We won't comment on the rumour that the Pope wanted to have a talk with us.
Meanwhile, the distributors for Dooom are settled. If you think you need to send in your offer, it's OK if you continue to do so, but I have to inform you that the distributon question is quite settled for Dooom.

Several drafts of artwork have passed back and forth, we are getting somewhere juicy. Drums for all songs are finished except 1 song.

Ok we skipped a Monday already due to a gig with beyond the void. This week went mainly into organisational aspects, but the drums are almost done (2 songs remaining), and I heard the first drafts of the CD layout will arrive end of the week.

While the LP graphics are under construction for some time, our own Endzeit Elegies CD version's artwork has officially started. Our artist has his infos and specifications and is wringing his genius now. The CD version will be quite something to look at we think, therefore much energy goes into a worthwhile & unique look!
